Force of Will (FoW) is a trading card game that combines the combat mechanics of Magic: The Gathering with an anime aesthetic and a dedicated “Ruler” mechanic. Building your first deck can feel overwhelming, but mastering the basics will get you ready for competitive play.
Here is the essential guide to building a legal and functional Force of Will deck. 1. Choose Your Ruler Your Ruler is the most important card in your deck. It starts the game in your Ruler Zone. It dictates your deck’s strategy and color identity. It can “Judgment” to enter the field as a powerful J-Ruler. 2. Understand Deck Sizes A legal FoW deck consists of three distinct decks. Main Deck: Exactly 40 to 60 cards. Magic Stone Deck: Exactly 10 to 20 cards.
Sideboard (Optional): Up to 15 cards for best-of-three matches. 3. Follow the Copy Limits
You cannot overload your deck with too many copies of the same card.
Standard Cards: Maximum of 4 copies per unique card name across the Main Deck and Sideboard.
